An Cridhe and the Bunk House Management

We have an important update for the community regarding the management of An Cridhe and the Bunk House. We are sad to say that Sam Thomas, who has been running the facilities for over 2 years, has decided to pursue a different career path and will leave us on the 19th December.

The board members have discussed the replacement for Sam and are taking the opportunity to reevaluate the role and the cover of tasks across An Cridhe and the Bunkhouse. We want to ensure that more than one person is able to perform all the required tasks and we need to better address the seasonal pressures. As the summer and the winter have very different requirements, we will be looking at how best to achieve this and how best to organise work load going forward. This may result in a different and hopefully more sustainable structure.

As this will take some time to figure out, we are immediately looking to recruit someone on a temporary basis to cover the centre manager role. It is highly likely however that the person we recruit will have the opportunity for a long term position within the team. The temporary role will be for a minimum of 25 hours a week and will commence on the 8th of December (subject to a fair and successful recruitment process).

If you are interested in applying, please contact our chairman, Sam Rutherford at Chair@developmentcoll.org.uk who can answer any questions you may have and supply you with the current job spec. Given the tight timescales, we intend to close applications by the 21st of November.

There are of course a number of other members of staff within our community besides the manager who work very hard to keep things running and they will continue in their current roles.

We are very grateful to them all as well as all the volunteers who give their time to serve our community.

We would like to thank Sam for his amazing commitment and the work he has done for us all and wish him every success in the future.
